Happy May everyone! Let me start by sharing a little about what’s changing in the newsletter as well as my group, and what writing updates I have for you guys.
With the struggles of social media and engagement literally dying off, I’m making some changes to go back to basics. I’ve fallen into the automation trap of attempting to make weekly posts in my group that I thought would keep people engaged, however, it’s failed. Engagement has plummeted recently, and although it may have nothing to do with me and everything to do with the changes to FB, socials, and people’s attitudes toward it, I’m still trying this because my group has been one of my two biggest resources for loyal readers and engagement, my newsletter being my other big one.
So I’ve come up with new posts, I’ve been saving lots of games and memes on Pinterest to use, and I’m planning to do weekly sharing of my current wips or plots in progress to keep you guys in the loop and interested in my writing in a deeper and more meaningful way. I’ll be honest, I’m terrible at posting regularly on social media, I didn’t grow up with it, I’ve never felt a lot of support or gain from it, but utilizing it for the purpose of growing a readership is extremely helpful, so I’m trying to get better about being more open, sharing more little things. I always end up thinking no one cares what I’m watching or doing, my life is boring, I have nothing postable worth sharing, but I’m not trying to be glamorous, you guys just want me, so I’m aiming to work on this.
That being said, the newsletter is going to change just a smidge. I will still be maintaining the bi-weekly newsletter update with all my ramblings, book swaps, bookfunnel promos, the usual content, but I am adding to it. These bi-weekly newsletters will now get a new section for Sneak Peek Sunday, which is where I will be sharing a small tease or some sort of info on what I’m currently plotting, writing, or editing for release. But since this Sneak Peek Sunday will be a weekly thing in the group, it only seems fair to make it a weekly thing for you all as well, so on the Sundays where I don’t have a regular newsletter, you’ll just get the sneak peek so you aren’t left out.♥
Of course, if you follow me in my group or want to join to check out the changes I’m making in there as well to be more personable, you’re always welcome, the group is open for readers to post as well. I want to build a community, not just make everything about me, so feel free to jump in and share book reviews, memes, games, whatever you think I and the other readers like me would enjoy seeing.♥
On top of all of this, I’m getting very close to delivery of my second baby, so things are getting a little crazy and very tiring. I’m so tired all the time, not going to lie lol. But I’m doing my best to get things set up, scheduled, and prepared so I can take at least 2 weeks to be with my family before my husband goes back to work. I’ll then have 2 kiddos to care for over the summer and work around before school starts up again and I’m down to one for most of the day. June being my due date, I should get everything for the month scheduled well before she arrives, so you’ll likely not even realize I’m gone, but I will do my best to share an update on how we’re doing in the midst of it once we’re settled.
With this being the case and me not having a cover for Unifying the Nyanine yet, there is still no release date. It’s still sitting in the formatter, waiting for any final edits to be made so I can download and sort out a release schedule. I’m hoping to release before the holidays this fall. When You Prevail is still waiting for my rounds of edits before I hand it to my aliens, but I will have some small teases for you soon. I’m also still plotting the hunter novellas, I have 3 down, I’m working on the 4th with 2 more to go to finish before I can write them all. The reader magnet is finally in your hands, so at least that bit if finally set up and off my plate! :)
Other than that, I’m just doing my best to get my editing work done, save up for hospital bills, and enjoy the holidays and birthdays going on in my family this month. Which reminds me, Kairi just turned 6 and I’m not crying, you are, but I’m so proud of her! We had a tiny family celebration on her birthday in the middle of the week and then her pool party on the weekend with friends and family. I can’t believe how the time has flown, but I’m so happy to have all the love in my life.🩵
In all of this chaos, what are you most looking forward to in the coming months? Write me back or comment and let me know! :)
🖊️Sneak Peek Sunday🖊️
What am I currently working on and willing to share with you? Check it out!⬇️
This week’s sneak peek comes from Unifying the Nyanine, which I am hoping to release before the end of the year! This is just chapter one, Tavionna’s POV, and she’s clearly not okay with the turn of events. I mean, if you read the previous book and how it ended, you probably aren’t either… but just wait until you read what comes next. Their enemies are in for a surprise!
That’s it. They’ve really done it this time. They’ve fucked with my sister, hurt her deeply, and I won’t stand for this. I may have made the mistake of seeing her as the enemy at one point as well, but I know better now. I love her now, and I won’t let them get away with this. I have no way of knowing just yet if she was the intended target or not, but I do know that I can’t stand for this. It’s my duty to help protect her, it’s why I came here, what the Guardians asked me to do, and I’ll be damned if I fail a request from the universe.
A growl rips from my throat as my power flares, making my body glow unnaturally. The hunters continue their efforts of shooting arrows and rushing into the dense woods, but I know better. I don’t know how, but I feel it inside, exactly what I need to do. Their efforts won’t be enough, the shooter and any he has with him will run from them, the primitive weapons just aren’t going to cut it in this fight. And it now is clear why I was brought here. I up the ante in this fight, I alone can change its trajectory, and I will.
Any guesses as to what Tavi will do next?
